The Grease Sing-A-Long
next Friday sounds fun (I went a Sound Of Music
Sing Along at this same cinema in the winter, and it was a packed theater and great fun), and I am very interested in seeing the upcoming Brideshead Revisited with Emma Thompson in it. *sigh* So many movies, so little time. (and so little money..)

I'm working today. On a perfectly gorgeous Saturday. Boo..hoo..
Ah, well, all I have to do is get through the eight hours and then I'll officially start my weekend. Company coming in to visit from far away(overseas)--we'll see our friends tonight. And then it's off to Block Island for a few days. We have been invited out to stay with our good friends from Wakefield who have rented a house out there for the week. And...the weather promises to remain gorgeous. It better had! ;-)
Interesting coming in to work today, noted all the other people who happen to have today off. Bikers, walkers and people already heading to the town beach. Everone so awake and busy, as compared to my house. No one, besides myself, is a morning person there. When I left just before 9:00, both John and Rachel had just gotten up and were still moving slowly (Rachel actually in a ball on the couch, barely speaking) But the world is awake and alive with beachgoers and tourists down at the beach and Pier area as I drove by. Joe The Hotdog Man already has his cart in place on the street across from the beach. I also noticed a woman with a book in hand and beach chair under her arm, heading in the opposite direction, walking away from the beach. She must have gone down to sit on the beach in the early morning before the hordes arrived, to enjoy some peace and quiet.
I also noticed a man on a motorcycle heading down the street to the beach with his surfboard attached to this apparatus that is meant to hold surf boards, coming off the side of the bike. I never knew there was such an animal.

For the record, I never say "Egads" , but felt perfectly comfortable writing that this morning.

A perfectly wonderful word I think :) Very PG Wodehouse.
I'm not so sure about the new Bridesmaids Revisited, I love the book and the original series, but I think I will definately see it and try to keep an open mind.

I'd be that lady sitting on the beach reading early in the morning. I love the early mornings when the day hasnt yet woken up.

Hope you have a wonderful time with your friends, heres to lovely weather. i think its due to rain here tomorrow, but thats ok, I love rain :)
Hugs xxxx

C.C.,
Yes, I would like to be that lady, getting to the beach early, too. Only, I don't usually make it that far...into the back yard/garden is where I usually spend my morning of(it is just as peaceful, but no soothing surf sound)
Enjoy your rain--good for staying cozy indoors, creating..hhmmm..?
I'm off to the beach this evening.(we changed our restaurant plans since our friends prefered to see the beach their first evening around here, so it'll be pizza and wine/beers under the stars, like a bunch of kids)

T. I wanted to tell u I found Ciara. It was at Walmart. I was impressed with thier retro-scent assortment...the Ciara as well as all of the perfumes were packed in a plastic that was as secure as a brinks truck...There was no way to smell the stuff! It was $25 and I thought that was a lot to spend on a perfume i might not like...I'll have to keep looking for a place that has testers...hope all is well with u Tina. I took Minxie Jr with me to Rockefeller Plaza to see the Today showconcert that was featuring Miley Cyrus...OMG all screaming girls and a huge crowd and we only got close enuf to see her on the monitors...apparently peopel were camped out for 3 days...soemthing id never consider even for a more appealing celebrity singer...

Ugh..I HATE that excess plastic packaging(and how sad to encase a perfume bottle in it--usually Ciara comes in a box). (try eBay for Ciara?? That's what my husband does..)

What a nice mother you are, to attempt to get near Miley Cyrus for your daughter!(my own daughter is begging for tickets to the Amer. Idol tour, and so far, I have not been too keen on pursuing it..). I hope you had a good rest of the day in NYC together??

~~Manders,
Colin Firth...yum...

I had the chance to watch a brilliant performance of The Bolshoi Ballet 10 years ago in Moscow. They also performed a few months ago in Cyprus but , unfortunately, due to my load of work, I missed that. Hmmmm..I think I'd have loved a Sound of Music Sing-Along !

Have a great time with your friends. Filakia !

LMAO The Ciara box was enclosed in the plastic prison...I was super impressed that there were a good number of the retro scents there..

We were so overtired that we hopped a cab and went to the bus station and back home where we immediately slept...I plan on taking her to NYC for the day this coming week or so just to roam around...

I agree....there's way too much to be done and seen here as well. Ah well, we cannot do everything can we.

Have a great time at Block island, sounds like a lovely holiday :-) with some sunshine and a little breeze it must almost be perfect lol. Have fun!!

Every once in awhile an "egads" comes out of my mouth too... but not very typical. I think maybe I heard my mother say that when I was young... ??

I just love how you observe things around you... and some very interesting things, indeed!! I am so unobservant, when people ask me what someone looks like I really find it hard to remember... did they have a beard? What color shirt? Oh forget that... never do I notice that. I do like to observe nature though... so I guess I have to really set my mind to it in order to observe... otherwise I am pretty oblivious!

So... it's amazing they have a surfboard carrier for bicycles... but I guess people think of everything these days!! :)

Sounds like you've got a lot of fun things on your agenda.... good for you!! Summer's leaving us all too quickly....
