I have often thought I would love living in Vermont (the Northeast Kingdom, in particular), but there is no ocean--that could be a problem.
Connecticut is just too similar and nearby to where I already live (and the Nutmeg state has too many N.Y. Yankees fans).
Massachusetts--same thing (but at least it is Boston Red Sox territory), but I could see myself living there.
Sarah Palin news makes Alaska very unappealing to me right now. Sorry, Alaska. (yes, I know it is breathtakingly beautiful there, though)
Arkansas? I really have no idea what is in Arkansas. No idea at all.
Washington sounds like a place I might like to visit on the other coast one day.

Just had to do another Blogthing, basically. To tie in with this theme, I made a U.S. States mix tape a while back at Mixwit. There were a few states I could not think of a song for (no Colorado, North Carolina, Louisiana, Washington, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Iowa, Arizona, Kentucky, Kansas and Maine) I was almost going to stretch it and use that "Maniac" song from Flashdance for the great state of Maine. Have you seen Baby Boom Gal Friday? With Diane Keaton? She moves to Vermont, and there's a part where they have Moonlight in Vermont in the background. Ever since I watched that movie, I loved that song, and associate it with Autumn! Probably because of what the scene was about and the fact that Vermot is portrayed the entire time either with snow or with autumn tree leaves.
By the way, the quiz says I should live in Georgia! hmmm...I thought it would be a full 4-season state, probably around your state. On the other hand, I wouldn't move to the US at all. There once was a test of a country, and I got France; not that is a country I think I'd try living in :-)

I've never been to the US and I think I'd only like to visit some cities or see some landscapes, but I wouldn't live there....But I couldn't help it, I had to take the quiz!:)

That's right--the Clinton's are from Arkansas(I like the accent). I forgot. I just have no idea in my head what Arkansas LOOKS like...and have never known anyone who has been there. I have a better idea of what it is like in Czechoslovakia... or British Columbia, for that matter. Quite the mystery.
Funny that you got "New Hampshire--"Live Free Or Die"!! My cousins are from there and when they visited us when I was a child I was frightened by that phrase on their car's license plate. And oh, boy, I hope you don't think USA is THAT bad of a place to live(okay, the news is pretty bad these days)...but I can think of better places, as well. I bet you would love Vermont if you visited--one of my favorite places. Granted, I have not seen too much of my own country, so can't speak for places like New Mexico.

No, I haven't seen that movie, but I can imagine what kind of impression the Vermont scenery would make on you(I love "Moonlight In Vermont", too- a classic song) Every now and then I do look at real estate in a certain region of Vermont and show them to my husband. One day...*sigh*
Georgia(it does get quite warm there, I think, but they have four seasons, too)--well there is another state I myself, would like to visit--Savannah and even the smaller towns.
I agree--it would be beautiful to live in France. I always think that if it became intolerable to live here, I would pick Germany to live. :-)

Some of the states..Texas, So. Carolina, for instance, are fairly warm year-round. And there's always...Paris, Texas. :-) (I know--it isn't quite the same)
And you are right--there is no place like home, no matter the drawbacks. And every place has it's charms and good points. And home is where our friends and family are, afterall.(most of them, usually)

Gal F, I like the variety of landscapes in the US, I always find the people friendly, and the service *excellent*. :) I still don't want to live there though. *lol*
One more comment: I think it's weird that "blue" is associated with the Democrats, while red is associated with the Republicans. It's opposite in Canada: Blue is associated with the Conservative Party (right-wing), and Red with the Liberals (centre-left). The left-wingers use orange as their party colour...and that is your colour isn't it?? ;)
