The secret is out

~ Leaves, berries and asters gathered on a morning walk~
***************
Yep, it is my birthday. 46 years old today. So, this was a good reason to break my string of non-blogging days and write a little something here this afternoon.
This morning started off good, with me finally being able to open the box that held the hiking sneakers I picked out two months ago as a birthday gift. (they are on my feet right now)
John and I had a quick breakfast and coffee together at the bakery at the top of the hill before work, and the scones had just come out of the oven, so were still warm. Mmmmm....blueberry, too.
Of course, I had to work, but I had a few people stop in there (some bearing gifts, like my my sister) to wish me a Happy Birthday. The customers were cheery. Things were going very nicely until I got to a certain job in the work room which was a nightmare to build and put together. An hour of frustration. And when I stepped out of the building to go home, I was shocked at how cold it had gotten--raw and spitting rain. Spooky clouds scudding across the sky and everything looking bleak.
At least I had yesterday off and it was warm out. I pottered around in the yard, cleaning up the beds and window boxes. Sat in the weak sun for a while, doing the rest of the Sunday paper's crossword. And...when I took the dog for a walk(I went a different way with Jewel, up along a busy road) I got whistled at by a passing someone (I assume a male someone) in a truck. Now, that whistle may have been intended for my dog, but I prefer to think it was for my almost 46 year old self.(I was insisting on saying I was 45 until the very end!)
Years ago, I hated that kind of attention, but at this age, I think it's great! ;-)

Pati,
I wore them on the job today, even thought the rest of me was all dressed up. :-) (actually they matched my outfit rather nicely)

Q.C.,
My sister just left...we all had a lovely supper of roasted red pepper pasta and Bailey's Irish Cream Cheese Cake together.

You are a stunner and there's no doubt about who the whistle was for :)
