Some soothing images(click mosaic to enlarge) taken at a local garden center, which was much quieter now that the planting season is winding down, with only a few remaining perennials and mostly chrysanthemums for sale. The greenhouse is half empty. They'll close for the winter after Christmas-which is not too far away.

I love that mosaic. Who is that statue?
I imagine it would be serene in there. What could be nicer than wandering around looking for plants and an ornament for the garden?
The lion head reminds me of a garden fountain I bought with a relief of a smaller lion head. So nice..
Lovely.;) Reminds me of my local garden center.;) In fact the purple cabbage (your first picture) is what I am going to plant in some of my pots in a couple of weeks. It is a perfect autumn plant that will last until the early frost in December.;)

I bought a few of those same purple kale plants for pots in front of my house, too! I hope they will survive a long time--into December, as you said. :-)
I see a lot of purple...such a nice Autumn color. Maybe people will come and pick them because of the season?
There are quite a few "viveros" in my area...seems that people like to have garden and plants around here. They are not as pretty as that one shown in your mosaic, and I definitely haven't seem them full of people ever. Maybe I go in the quiet hours?

That is the perfect word--Bittersweet--for the feeling and mood at this time of year.
Although I hate autumn, I love chrysanthemums - both the yellow and the pink ones.Brilliant pictures!
