I stumbled upon this commencement speech at Harvard by author J.K. Rowling the other day and have listened to it three times now.
I was never bowled over by the "Harry Potter" books having only read aloud the first book to Rachel when she was eight years old, and then having watched the first two movie versions. I enjoyed them, yes, but along with other books by other writers.
But I have always been inspired by the story of Rowling herself, writing the first Potter book while a a single parent, determined to publish her book and then becoming so successful(and in turn inspiring millions of young and not-so-young readers to read her books) and revered world-wide.

Wow...that was an inspirational speech.
Have never read Harry Potter, my 21 year old is such a fan that she tells me the whole story after reading the book then drags me to see the movies...and to buy her the DVD set...
I am in tears! Such an amazing speech, the kind - I think - that keeps your attention; the kind, that makes you laugh, but also that makes you think and analize. Inspiring indeed, and moving.
Thanks for sharing Tina!

I've never read (or seen) any Harry Potter...
I agree her story is moving! Never have been into the Potter world much either - despite of almost the whole world around us lol.
