I wasn't even going to write anything here today, but this entry inspired me to play along. So, below, this is what I found at Quirky Celt's blog.
Below is a list of 100 things that I think every good omnivore should have tried at least once in their life. The list includes fine food, strange food, everyday food and even some pretty bad food - but a good omnivore should really try it all. Don’t worry if you haven’t, mind you; neither have I, though I’ll be sure to work on it. Don’t worry if you don’t recognise everything in the hundred, either; Wikipedia has the answers. Here’s what I want you to do:1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating. (like Q.C., I don't know how to cross out, so I added a comment in parentheses to the foods I would never want to eat)
4) Optional extra: Post a comment here at www.verygoodtaste.co.uk linking to your results.

Without consulting a gastronomical encyclopedia, I have definitely tried 52 out of 100.
Wasn't that fun??? I admit that my first Delia Smith recipe was Venison Casserole and it was divine! I had goat curry in Notting Hill Carnival one year - I didn't know that it was goat - it was good though. Paneer is an Asian cheese - I love it with spinach in curries. Aloo Gobi is another Asian dish - potato and caulifower with spices. Here's to food!!!
Rosemary,
52 out of a 100 on the list!! That is impressive. I see I have some more eatng to do(although some things I won't be trying)
Qirk,
Yes, so very fun! Who ever thought this up was quite clever. I have not been exposed to Asian food very much, living where I do. The Aloo Gobi sounds tasty.
lots of weird names I see, and another ton of meat ones :-( sounds like fun!
You would never eat poutine??? Ahhh, you don't know what you are missing. ;) I guess the cheese is the deal-breaker. ;)
~Claudia,
Yes, you are right--there ARE quite a few meat based dishes in the list.
~Kathy,
It IS a cheese thing, definitely, about Poutine...also a texture thing--gloopey, melted cheese combined with the word "curd" makes me think I could not get it down my throat.
