It's spring today! According to the calendar-- and while it hardly looks any different outside, it really felt and sounded like it even yesterday. I heard a whole chorus of birds singing at dusk, and then another whole chorus of them at dawn and it is still going on out there as I write this.
I'm wearing my Ralph Lauren jean jacket for the first time this year and think I *might* pack away most of the mittens and hats that are spilling out of the basket by the front door.
I had some vaguely interconnected dreams featuring aquatic animals last night(or more likely early this morning before the birds woke me). In one, I was with J and R in the "Great Swamp"(yes, that is a real place near here)--actually in the swamp wading around at night with a tour guide. This being a dream, the water was perfectly clear and had a sandy bottom--no swampiness(or mosquitos)at all. And there were hundreds of otters swimming around us and we could pet them. The ocean part of my dream featured a hundred foot long eel swimming alongside me at the town beach-not as pleasant as the friendly otters experience. There was some other part about some abandoned kittens in a condo and the Mafia(shady men in a parked white car and a feeling that they had something to do with the plight of the kittens) but that is about all I can remember now.
I know I am getting deadly boring going on and on about Shamrock Shakes again, but..... last night we were watching the taped episode of Wednesday night's Colbert Report and sure enough, Shamrock Shakes came up (in his "The Word" segment)! I have a feeling that either John Colbert or his writers had a frustrating time trying to get one this week, too. We watched the taped Wed. night Daily Show, too, and I just marvel at how funny and dead on Stewart and Co. are, consistently every weeknight. Thank God for the Colbert Report and The Daily Show, and DVR taping. I could never manage to stay up that late to watch them.
Of course, that means I didn't watch the President on Leno last night, either. I'll have to check the news at some point to see how that turned out. I think Obama should have waited for the new Conan show, though. (and when is Conan coming back?)
Well, this week seems to have flown by--it feels like I was just doing this, but it has been seven days already. Thanks, as always, for the fill-in questions, Janet.

LOL about #4...that does seem to be the question everyone is asking.
Enjoy the weekend!
Who could possibly drink a milkshake first thing in the morning? I love hearing about your wild and hilarious dreams. Kittens, condos, mafia, otters and eels. You really should write a book.
Don't put the mittens away just yet. I woke up to a wet snow here in New Jersey. Maybe it's heading your way.
Happy first day of spring. ♥Rosemary
you know you've cursed us by saying that about mittens and hats, right? Cursed, I say!
Thanks for fixing the typo in #6, btw ;-)
Do you know I'd never heard of zeppoles until about a year ago? Boy, they're good!
I can help! I just posted the Obama-on-Leno video. It's very funny. He did well. They both did (I'm not normally a huge Leno fan).
Spring... I feel it inside, even if it's not yet obvious on the outside. (Though... more obvious in California, I'm thinking.) ;-)
I so agree with you on the Friday and work; therefore I took a day off today.))
I too sometimes wake up at that ungodly hour and can not sleep.
And in regards to twitter, I think it is not for me.;) I am not keen on updating the world on what I am up to every minute - my life is too boring for that.:P
I am wishing you a great Friday and even better weekend.:))
And so sorry for missing your posts for the last 3 days.;))
xoxo

1. Why do we have to go to the dentist?
2. Coffee twice a day are now habits.
3. I have Justin Timberlake playing in the background(not appropriate for younger listeners) while they are having a short rest.
4. I had never heard the phrase "Tweets" and it is everywhere (like you said, Tina). I don't get what the big deal is with Twitter....
5. I will probably spend most of my afternoon just vegging the way I always do.
6. How was I to know that I would have to pay so much to buy American money.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to packing, tomorrow my plans include laundry, packing, note making and church and Sunday, I want to hang with the family and then go to bed early so we can leave for the airport at 5am!
I'm a bit under the weather...see why I hate Spring so much? As if my spring allergies were not enough, here I am in mid March in the eastern Med with a cold! Nothing too serious : just a severe headache, red eyes (people ask me why on earth I am crying), a slightly stuffed nose, and tending to throw up!
But I still have the stamina to fill the gaps. So here goes:
1. Why do we have to_____do housework?
2. Blogging and filling in the Friday Fill-ins_____ is fun.
3. I have _____a chocolate-rasberry cake on my lap!
4. Until very recently, I had never heard the phrase "______"The Future is Black" (James Baldwin)
5. I have had some worrisome things on my mind, so keep waking up at 3:00 AM and thinking instead of sleeping lately,_____ the way I always do when I feel like bingeing on French cheeses!
6. How was I to know _____ how to cook soutzoukakia?
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to __________going to bed early - that is before 3 am - because I have an IGCSE speaking test practice tomorrow. I wil only sleep for 4 hours or so but then again , tomorrow is Saturday which means...I can have a long siesta between 5-7 pm! And then ! A wild Saturday night out - the Greek way!
Happy Spring!
I don't Twitter either.
Get some melatonin for sleeping. Trader Joe's has some chewable minty stuff and it works like a charm. (Though can be strong, so try it first on a non-work night).
Hi Tina and thank you for your comments on my blog. How lucky you are to be woken up by the birds singing just after such a ...weird and funny dream. We had great weather throughout the week and I put coats and scarves away. But today it looks it's going to be stormy! Enjoy your weekend.
Wow, weird dreams fellow Libran! Did you eat cheese before you went to bed? ;-)
Hi Tina! I love your Friday fill-in, and maybe putting away the mittens and hats. I have that same pile by my front door. Would love to say adios to it, after this weekend's first and last ski day of the season.
Peepers! How great. I also really liked hearing about your dream. I dreamed about kittens when I was pregnant and felt they were somehow babies.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment on my art post, and I'd like to invite you to read my comment on your comment. More thoughts about Fra Dana.
Have a great spring weekend!
Did you see General Myers on the Daily Show last week?
OMG say it aint so Tina! I'll have to look next time I drive over that way. What a shame. Its been there for ages. I dont really come to Multiply much. I have been busy on facebook with my highschool and college friends. We have even had a couple of mini reunions and lunches. Work has been very slow for me so I am branching out into baby textile designs. Hopefully that will pay off. Publishing is in the toilet right now. My agent told me she was paying her mortgage with her retirement money...I hope all is well with you. You can reach me at minxmanx@yahoo.com if you want to email me. Then I will be able to give you my private email address. :)Multiply woudlnt cooperate with my reply to you so i am leaving it here.
here's what I found for you about the FOW...

We did have some lovely weather here last week (around 25*C) and this week it's around 10*C again so it's still going up and down. In NL it's the same apparently. I agree....I do feel spring within myself too, and also going a bit up and down (a bit down right now ;-).
I love the chorus of birds...it's sooo wonderful and so feels like spring!
