Spring Green Friday Fill-In

1. Apparently there's some sort of _____ unwritten rule that Yahoo News has to always have the most grisly, ghastly and depressing news headline blurbs for me to read first thing in the morning.

*sigh*
Of course, there is always also some odd news to lighten things up a bit:

2. My seedlings and strawberry plants need a _____ sunny day. (to dry out after all the rain)

3. 2009 _____ has been a so-so year for me and my family _______ so far.(compared to many other less fortunate people in this sagging economy and violent world)

4. I saw my (future) husband across the room, knew I had to get to know him, we spoke_____ that was it. I was in love.

5. For too long I've been _____ too shy to toot my own horn.

6. I am not obsessed with _____blogging; I am not!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _____ bookclub night at my friend Lisa T.'s (will be discussing Louise Erdrich's "The Master Butcher's Singing Club"--one of the best books I have read so far this year),
tomorrow my plans include _____ a little yard work in the promised sunshine and low 80's temps and Sunday, I want to _____ soak in some more of that predicted sunshine and even higher temps. (better find the sunscreen!)

~Yvonne,
There really IS love-at-first-sight. :-)

I am going to do mine on my blog. I may just read that book now that I am almost over my Twilight Saga. It will be nice to read something that does not revolve around Edward, Bella and Vampires...

I love your answers - the hubby answer is sweet. For me, I didn't know until I saw his house. And then it was pretty much all over. Funny how that is, eh?

Also - bookgroup sounds great! Are you on Goodreads? I am stocking up for summer reading...

Have an amazing weekend, Tina!

I love your Friday posts. I totally get your number 4; cherish it as not many get to experience it.
And you know how much I agree on the headlines stuff; I have stopped reading the news now on my lunch break, instead I read wonderful blog posts.;)
I hoping that your weekend will be as you envisioned it here.
Have a great one.;))

what a genius post. Will our similarities ever end? #4 - that is how I met my (future) husband. Across a crowded classroom when I was visiting his school one day.Lightning bolt. Done. Married when I was 20, 18 years later still married to him. I still adore him.

I plan on doing a little yardwork too this weekend and fitting in a 2 year olds bday party and overtime at work (yikes)

Sounds like it will be a nice weekend for you :) Mine, not so much. Hubby is on duty and I have a frisky little puppy girl that keeps me busy & on my toes, although hubby has a little time off tomorrow, so we want to go for a swim in the pool & read in the sunshine for a while.

Well, there you go. Now I don't have to ask about the plausibility of love at first sight on my blog (and you know I would have).

"The Master Butcher's Singing Club." It's on my list!

~Becky,
I stopped having the TV news on in the house when my daughter was a toddler--just didn't want that in the house at all. But, I can't stop myself from looking at the news online(and I listen to the news of NPR radio almost daily). I wish I could close myself off from it comletely and just not care...but I alwasy get sucked into it again.
I am very sorry to learn you lost your husband and can imagine that it would be difficult to ever find that kind of love again.
