...waiting for the sun to shine.
That is Jewel waiting (with Super Grover, my driving guardian and protector) in a parking lot yesterday while R was in Staples getting some supplies for a school project.
Yesterday was basically me driving R around and watching her shop. She had gift cards to spend from her birthday and is still out from school because of the Swine Flu scare (we still don't know if a student actually had it, and assume classes will be back in session tomorrow). There wasn't much else to do on a rainy day, anyway.
I usually try to refrain from complaining about the weather.
But.... this grey funk, with cold temps, and off and on rain showers (and occasional torrential downpours like during my drive on the highway yesterday when I could barely see anything before me and some idiot drivers didn't even have their lights on!) that began last Friday and is now expected to remain until through the weekend is getting me down, and I want to complain, dammit!
So, I am feeling a little ornery. And sunshine-deprived.

Mr. Toad is honored to make an appearance on your blog along with Super Grover and Jewel. We love rainy days when we can stay in pajamas and play on the Internet. Look on the bright side (or at least polish the dull side):-)

Tina, we have the same weather as you. Since Sunday it has been rainy and today it is stormy! My poor plants. So I feel like complaining too, you are not alone.;))

Ooh, I am so envious of your Super Grover! I've got a little crocodile clipped to my rearview mirror, obtained as a Children's Hospital fundraiser. Grover is more fun. :)
We were teased with two or three days late last week of summertime temperatures (18 to 22*C, sunshine). Then the weather returned to rainy, bitter cold 5*C on Sunday (including a five hour power outage to top it off). People at the local running race were wrapped in fleece and mitts and toques, and complaining bitterly.
The week has started off with a real mixed bag of rain, cloud, sun, wind, thunderstorm, driving rain, hail and about 8 to 10*C. It looks more promising today, with blue sky peeking out between the clouds.
On the positive side, since the "hot spell" we had on Friday and Saturday, suddenly everything in my flower beds has started to grow like crazy! I had one daffodil out on the weekend, and this morning it looked like most of them are blooming. It may take a looooong time for winter to leave here, but plants don't waste any time growing once a warm day comes. ;)

We did have the same grey weather here yesterday and today. But...the sun came back late in the afternoon and they say we will have sunny weather again tomorrow (and 19*C) which isn't too bad for Spring I think. So I'm hopeful lol.
Look at it as an excuse to spend more time inside blogging. Maybe make up a story for us about Jewel and his monster super hero friend.

We have had two gorgeous spring days here in a row but our spring has been disappointing weather-wise. I am appreciating every moment!
I COMPLETELY understand how that lack of sun can bring you down. Grey, cloudy and looks like rain later on right now down here in Guatemala, and it is definitely not my type of weather. I appreciate the rain. I hope you get your sun soon! After long months of snow, and weeks of rain, it is high time for some snow up there.

it does get depressing though. every year I want to move where the weather is consistent. (consistently nice that is)

That is what Rachel did today--stayed in her pajamas all day(she was even ouside out back in them). And as I write, it's sunny out--same day.

Grover was an unexpected gift from Rachel a couple of years ago. She saw him in a toystore and spent her own mney to buy him for me, knowing that Grover is my favorite Muppet.
And...I think your sunny thoughts across all those miles worked!! it turned sunny-completely sunny at about 2:30 this afternoon.

Great, creative idea, but..I had to be at work today, trying to help an impatient New Yawk couple choose framing for thier pictures, but at least I came home to sunny weather. Hope your skies further north get sunny soon, too. -)

I think like that, too--would I like to move to San Diego or Costa Rica or some other place like that? But then, I think we would miss the changing seasons and have a lot less to complain and talk about.
